Divas By Design Wings & Things

Its time for Team B over at Divas By Design to showcase this weeks challenge & this week its Wings & Things. This can be paper or embellishments, or images showing wings.

I started out choosing an orange piece of card, its so easy to go for white all the time isn't it? The BPs are both from stash. I then coloured a piece of gauze using Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink & placed onto card.
The feather came from stash, but I was not happy with the colour, so coloured with a Promarker & placed it underneath a birdcage which was from a template over at UKScrappers, which was coloured using Spiced Marmalade again. I added some purple twine across the card which looks like the parrot is sitting on it.

A Magnolia die was used for the dragonfly, which is again coloured with both Promarker & Distress Ink. The image is Magnolia & coloured with Promarkers. I used a MS punch to create the vine down the side.

I added flowers from stash to the bottom right of card.SU die was used for the lower left, distressed again with Spiced Marmalade & dew drops added. The sentiment is an old QVC one & lastly a leaf charm added to complete the card.

Butterfly Tilda

It seems ages since I posted here, I dont know where the time goes & this last week, I have not been in my craft room much at all. Apologies as I have not got around my favourite blogs either this week.
I was asked to make a girly, glitzy card with a butterfly theme, so here is my card. The BP are from stash, I coloured the doily with a Promarker to get the colour I wanted. Butterfly Tilda is coloured with Promarkers & her wings slightly glittered.

The butterfly is a Magnolia die, the button is a SU die, as is the mount for the Happy Birthday sentiment. I just love this ribbon that my friend gave me, isn't it fab? Flowers from stash of course.

The 50 I made using a Cuttlebug alphabet die, a few buttons from stash & more of that fab ribbon & voila an Easel card with a butterfly theme as requested.

Dream Valley Valentine

Flowers from stash & a few liquid pearls & there is the Valentine card for my son to give to his girlfriend.

Tilda in Edwins Village

I started off stamping up Edwins Village which was a recent purchase & coloured with Promarkers. I then used a Nestie to cut out the scalloped square to make a frame around the village scene & edged it with Pumice Stone Distress Ink. The ribbon is from stash & can you see the Happy Birthday on the top one? Tilda is Shopping Tilda & is again coloured with Promarkers.

I added a Cuttlebug border which has been distressed using Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink, as has the Magnolia tag die. The sentiment is by Cuddly Buddly. Flowers & pearls also from stash.

All flowers from stash, mostly part of the lorry load that my friend brought back from Thailand..lol.

Dream Valley Animals

The next challenge over at Dream Valley is Animal, so we want to see your creations using animals, domesticated or otherwise. This week is sponsored by Mel herself who is putting together a surprise package.
On my card I have used papers from Bo Bunny Zoology collection & created a frame, underneath is a silhouette cut on my Craft Robo from a CD I bought years ago (2007) called Just Cutters. I love this scene as elephants are simply my favourite animal. I added Elephant from Pets & Animals Collection 2009 & coloured him with Promarkers. The sentiment is Magnolia Sweet Crazy Love Collection 2012.

You can see the adorable little elephant charm added to the sentiment.

This corner is also made by myself. I used a template over at UK Scrappers & coloured it with a Promarker & covered it with Glossy Accents. Flowers from stash.

Tilda with Hellebores

Another Tilda I am afraid. I just love these images & between me & my 2 friends who also love them, we are building up quite a collection.
On Thursday, 2 of us went to Sir Stamp A Lot & once again, did not come out empty handed. Here's one of our new purchases Tilda with Hellebores from Sweet Christmas 2011 collection. Coloured with Promarkers. BP used are Crafty Individuals Book 1 & a Magnolia paper called Something Old. I also used Papermania Portobello Road. All edges are distressed.

I bought a Marianne Designs birdtable & picket fence, don't you think that is so cute? I have been after the Magnolia fence die for ages, but this one was much cheaper. I distressed it with Pumice Stone distress ink.

Ribbon from stash & gauze from my First Aid kit (thanks Rebekah for the idea). The flourish is a Sissix die run through the Cuttlebug.

Lastly flowers from my recently grown stash..lol.

Its a Jungle out there!

I have been collecting Magnolia stamps for a while now & when I see a bargain, I snap it up, so I have a collection of the animals now, as they are part of the Pet & Animals Collection 2009.
I started off with a side stepper card. I used Jungle Edwin & Colibri on the upright. Both coloured with Promarkers & highlighted with Prismas. I made my own grass for Edwin to stand in & a MS punch to make the jungle vine.
On the back step is Elephant, once again coloured with Promarkers. He is placed in front of a hill (sort of lol) that I cut out & I made more grass & placed a few little flowers behind it.

Once again, I added another jungle vine.
The next step has Lion, coloured with Promarkers & highlighted with Prismas. I cut out a rock & coloured it, again placing some hand made grass & flowers on top.
Finally in front is Jungle Leaves, & I added several flowers.
Sentiment is Papermania.

Happy Spring Tilda

This is such a girlie card!
Papers from stash & are edged with chalk. I mounted Happy Spring Tilda (Butterfly Dreams) onto a Nestie and used another Nestie in white, but ran it through the Cuttlebug with Swiss Dots folder & stuck that behind. It almost makes a circle.

Image is coloured with Promarkers & Prisma pencils. A friend lent me her SU punch to make the flags & I threaded them onto embroidery thread & used an old Gel Pen to write the letters. I let the thread hang on the card & stuck it at the bottom of the card.

Used from lace from stash & added an organza ribbon & a few dew drops.

I added quite a few of my new flowers to complete the card. Very, very girly!

So thats Christmas & New Year over for another year & we welcome in 2012. Mind you so far I have had 2 people pass away so not a great start to the year.

Its time for another Dream Valley Challenge & its an Anything Goes, so plenty of scope to get creating.

I needed a Thank You card, so thats my DT entry this time. I made a Criss Cross card using my new Hougie Board that Santa gave me for Christmas. The papers are K & Co Hopscotch & I covered all corners & edges with Broken China Distress Ink.
A Magnolia die was used to make a frilly edge & again distressed with Broken China. Ribbon from stash as are the flowers.
The image was coloured with Promarkers & is Tilda with lace jeans from the Butterfly Dreams collection 2011.

The inside has the same papers & Distress Ink with a Magnolia Tag slipped inside. The sentiment is a Stamping Up stamp. Attached ribbon to the tag with a brad from stash.

Tilda is on a journey

I found out recently that my sister who emigrated to New Zealand 8 years ago is coming to the UK in March & furthermore is flying out to Cyprus with me to spend a week together there with our baby sister. I am so excited I cannot tell you as I have not seen her apart from webcam in all that time. She is coming without hubby & family, so we can have some girlie time.
Anyway it is her birthday in January & I thought this was perfect for her. I started off with paper from stash, I think the top one was Lifes Journey by K & Co. The corners I cut out using my Craft Robo (using a template from UKScrappers) & gilded with gilding flakes.

I am quite pleased with how they turned out. All papers have been distressed with Distress Ink Peeled Paint. The word travel I cut out again on the Robo & distressed them to match the colours/tone already used.

The flowers again were distressed too & a metal charm saying journey was added.
Lastly the stamps used were Airplane in the clouds. Suitcase with signpost. Sitting Tilda, all from BonVoyage 2010. I have coloured with a mixture of Distress Inks & Prisma pencils.

Here is my card

I have used a Stitchy image called Sweet Santa & he is coloured with Promarkers. The BP are Papermania Noel set. The sentiments are my own & made on computer. I used a Nestie to mount my image onto but turned it around to create the diamond effect. Pointsettia & Reindeer from stash as is fringe. Santa sentiment was a freebie collected at some point, can't remember where. This is my last Christmas card, all mine have been written & sent/delivered, so feeling quite smug now.

Ice Skating

This is another scene I made up a few weeks ago. The background is Make It Crafty which has been coloured with Promarkers & Glamour Dust. The lake has a coating of Glossy Accents on it, which makes it look like water. I tore around the edge of the image & liberally coated it with Glamour Dust. I have then placed Tilda & Edwin ice skating on top with foam pads. They have been coloured with Promarkers as well.

The snowflake was out of my Duck Pond Craft kit & I have covered it with lilac glitter.

The trees have Liquid Pearl on them for snow.
Sentiment from stash, I kept this card quite simple as I wanted the image not to be lost in embellishments.

More Molly Bloom stamps this time. I have used the postcard & Santa on his chair. Both coloured with Promarkers & the postcard is distressed with Distress Ink Walnut Stain. The green BP is from the Papermania Noel set & the other one out of my scrap drawer. Handwritten sentiment on the postcard & a computer generated Job Done. The gorgeous poinsettia was in my monthly subscription from Duck Pond Crafts

Divas By Design Anything Goes

Its time for another challenge over at Divas & this time its an Anything Goes theme, so lots of scope to create & I look forward to seeing the entries.

I have 2 close friends & 1 of them was going to New Zealand for Christmas & New Year, so we had an early Xmas lunch last week & I gave both of them a tissue box I had made for them. I didn't want it to be just a Christmas gift but something for all year round, so I decided to make each side a different season

Here is the Winter scene. A Magnolia Tilda & lamp, coloured with Promarkers & snowflakes covered with Pinflair Snow Dust. paper from Papermania Noel set. Magnolia die used to create the lacy effect at the top & the season created in Word. Every edge is distressed with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

The next one is Spring, again with a Magnolia Tilda with Apples. Flowers from stash,as is the paper,the image coloured with Promarkers, everything the same as before.

Then we have summer, a Magnolia Tilda & Surfboard, coloured again with Promarkers. Paper from stash. The sun I made by cutting out a circle & some elongated diamond shapes. Palm trees from a set that I found buried in a drawer that I have had for years by Impex Creative Crafts.

Lastly we have autumn, Magnolia Tilda & leaves. Paper from stash & everything else the same as before.

Finally the top where I wound raffia around the top of the side of the box & added the flowers as seen from stash. The leaves are a punch, no idea of make as unmarked.
These were a labour of love as it took me 2 evenings to colour the images, then another 2 evenings to create & decorate, but they were very well received, so well worth it for 2 of my closest friends.

Monochromatic

Whilst reading my dashboard, I saw that Paulette from Create with TLC was asking if anyone could help her out by making a card for her blog hop, so I emailed her offering to do it & here is the card. She gave me the image to work with & I decided to leave it B&W & go for the monchrome look.

I created a frame around the image & ran it through the Cuttlebug using a snowflake folder. Added some sparkly black ribbon to top & bottom, together with a white organza bow. Used a little Pinflair Snow Dust on the bird table roof, tree & snowflake. Snowflake charm from stash. Lastly several jewels in black & silver highlighting the frame a little.
I hope Paulette is happy with it, she has said so...lol.

Tilda & Tree

Another Xmas card made...phew! This one is Tilda & Xmas Tree, coloured with Promarkers. A little Pinflair Snow Dust was added to the tree & the snowflake, as well as beneath Tilda.

Tilda is mounted onto Nesties & placed onto BP Magnolia Holly Christmas Song. I distressed the edges of the BP. The lace I coloured with Promarkers to get the same colours as my image. The flowers, wire decoration & candy were all from the last 2 kits I got from Duck Pond Crafts in my monthly subscription kits. I embossed the greeting onto a magnolia Tag die, which is hard to photograph but it does say Yuletide Greetings clearly I promise..lol.

Right, thats another card finished. So far I have 50 made & I will spend today writing my cards, so I know how many more I need to make.

Kenny K are having a DT call, so I thought I would have a bash at joining. Someone has to get the chance to play with his fab images, but I am sure it wont be me...lol.
Anyway here is my card, which I made yesterday amidst all the glitter & bling needed for Xmas cards.

I used Tug Of War which was a freebie from Kenny K & flipped it to look like the boys are playing against each other. Coloured with Promarkers & Glossy Accents on the sweat...lol. I distressed the edge of the card with Broken China Distress Ink. The paper was Toucan Scraps City Street which I was lucky enough to get whilst on the OSAAT DT . I changed the hue to match my card colours.
The tag was distressed using the same colour, with raffia tied around the card, together with a metal embellishment saying Team, which I thought was quite apt for the card. A few matching candy buttons & there we have a male card!

Molly Bloom Xmas scene

After our visit to Sir Stamp A Lot recently, we all bought several Molly Bloom stamps which I have used to create this scene. There is the Santa, Xmas Tree, Xmas stocking, Bed, Little Girl, Night Window
We did several classes whilst we were away & this was one of them. A side stepper card using Molly Bloom stamps.
Coloured with Promarkers. Papers were from stash. I added the snowflake which was a punch (maker KARS) & little jewels to the Xmas tree.
I do have a Magnolia round stamp that says Santa is coming to town which I will add to the front of the card before posting.

I just love the dimension in this little scene.

Magnolia Xmas Tree

On our way up to York last weekend, 6 of us visited Sir Stamp A Lot which is our local craft shop & all spent loads of money buying up the shop. Janice gave us tea & biscuits & we spent 2 hours in there & that was before we even started the journey north. One of my purchases was the new Magnolia Ink magazine as I just love these & in it is a card made by Mindy on the DT which I wanted to recreate.

The tree was made using a Magnolia edge die laid on top of each other & then cut at the edges. A little ribbon & silver thread, together with small jewels finish the tree.
Placed onto an easel card covered with Papermania Noel papers. The parcels are little boxes I made up & covered using the same paper pack & decorated.

Tilda as Santas Little Helper (2009) & Edwin on Christmas Eve (2011) were coloured with Promarkers. Doily from stash.
Its not exactly the same as Mindys & I have used different characters too, but the idea is hers & I can't say otherwise. Anyway I am sure hers is better..lol.

MIC Elves

Another MIC image which I got from Zoe & quite a simple card. Coloured the elves in with Promarkers, mounted onto red card. Paper I had had for yonks & laid some of it horizontal underneath the image. Wanted to keep this quite plain & funky. A few candy buttons & a sentiment. Easy!

I am going away tomorrow to Yorkshire for 5 days with some crafting friends. We have a cottage just outside York. My bags are almost packed & I am sure I have more craft stuff going with me than clothes!!!

MIC & Maggie

Once again I have been playing with Make It Crafty backgrounds & this one is Home Sweet Home. I have combined it with Tilda & Bauble & coloured with Promarkers. Now the room was not particularly Christmassy, so I have added red tinsel to the stair rails by adding glitter as well as to Tildas bauble.

I have a MS vine punch which also looks like Christmas lights (well does to me...lol), so I coloured & glittered strips to lay upon the card to give dimension & bling. The photo does not really show but they stand slightly proud of the card. I couldnt take any more photos as I have left my camera charger in Cyprus so I am going to have to rely on my phone for any new photos.

I think I am slowly getting my mojo back after a long absence. So many things have happened & not all good unfortunately. Anyway here is a card I made yesterday.

I absolutely love Zoes images over at Make It Crafty & bought several yesterday to try & kick start me into my craft room. I merged Ice Skating Lake & Simple Winter Scene together using My Craft Studio. Coloured with Promarkers & liberally glittered to give the snow effect. The lake I have covered in Glossy Accents to give a mirror finish

This is my card. The backing paper is a digital freebie from Bearly Mine, onto which I added ribbon from stash to make a frame effect. The image is a digi by Sassy Cheryl which I have coloured with Prisma pencils.

The flower is layered & a metal wire added for dimension. The silver sentiment is a die cut that I accquired ages ago, origin unknown. Lastly I added a cute little metal reindeer on top right corner & a couple of candy buttons.

Here is my birthday card for my sons girlfriend who turns 21 at the end of October. I am afraid the papers are from my stash, so no idea who or what they came from. A MS Daisy punch was used to edge the top paper.
My doily I coloured with a Promarker to match the colour scheme, which was laid on top of some lilac sparkly ribbon, although you can hardly see it now. The image (Tilda & Key) is coloured with Promarkers once more & edged with the same. A Magnolia tag die placed on top & I used my Cuttlebug alphabet to cut out the 21. Hat pin added. Flowers are a combination of Wild Orchid Crafts & stash.
I then placed it into a box, which I have kept quite simple.

Just a big ribbon & some dew drops & theres the card. I now need to go & buy the present which is a Pandora bead, as her parents are buying her the bracelet.

I know it has been ages since I posted a card, but I was away on holiday for 3 weeks & have only been back since last Sunday & this week has been manic. I promise to get around to my favourites blogs soon, I am still here....honest lol.

Button Up

Its time once again for another challenge over at Divas & this week its Button Up & therefore we want to see buttons on your creations. This week is sponsored by Crafty Emmas.

I used a Cuttlebug flower folder, which I had never used before to make the flower, I then ran it through the Cuttlebug again, using a Swiss Dot folder this time, onto which I stuck 2 buttons to make the centre. I also used a Cuttlebug border & stuck that along the bottom edge, onto which I stuck more buttons.
Paper is from stash, as are the flowers & ribbon & brad. The leaves are a Sissiz die, coloured with Promarkers. Sentiment is a freebie from blogland somewhere.

I am looking forward to seeing what you can create using buttons & don't forget to pop over to the Divas blog & see what my fellow DT have made this week.

Twisted Santa!!

I wanted to have a go at the twisted easel cards that I had seen in blogland & decided to have a go.. Over at Come & Get It Challenges I had won a top pick for my Back To School card & they asked me to be a GDT for this week using an easel card as a technique, so it was perfect to combine the two.
The image is from Make It Crafty which I coloured with Prisma pencils.

Papers I bought last year & cannot remember who or what they are, but they are glittered as is most of this card...lol. Ribbon, Dew Drops & Pointsettias all from stash. I have a Christmas bag with all my embellies etc in & each year I completely forget whats in there!

Copious amounts of glitter glue used around the edges of the card & I also got out embossing powder to make the sentiment which was a wooden stamp (unmarked) I have owned for years.
Voila, a twisted easel card which I am very pleased with, however I note that I have not been featured in the above challenge!! Hopefully an oversight.

After a very busy weekend, I managed to make this card on Sunday evening. BP are from Bearly Mine Christmas Sparkle collection. The image is Pink Gem which was a freebie last year. It was & still is one of my favourites, so I coloured him up with Promarkers & used My Craft Studio to colour the card to match the bluey backing paper & mounted him following the sketch over at A Gem of a Challenge. Flowers are a combination of stash & Wild Orchid Crafts. Ribbon which has been made into a double bow is from stash & the sentiment is from a See D bought from QVC years ago.

This is an image that I got when I was a member of the OSAAT DT, unfortunately the drawer of the stamp is no longer with OSAAT, so I cannot give a link.
I coloured with Promarkers & then gilded it, using my neglected Gilding Flakes. It looks splotchy in the photo, but it doesnt in real life, promise...lol

I framed the image with 3d foam & using papers from Bearly Mine, although these were a freebie from last year I think & cut out the oval with my Nesties. Backing paper is also Bearly Mine, from the same freebie set.

Added flowers & ribbon from my stash & from my monthly subscription to DuckPond Crafts ,as is the stick pin. I also gilded the leaves & a little flourish on the frame, as well as the sentiment & followed the sketch over at Sketch & Stash

Its been awhile!

Now I don't usually put much about my private life here on my blog, but just want to explain why I have not been around much. (Mind you I dont think I have been missed anyway). I have arthritis & its flared up recently which has left me in a lot of pain & not wanting to be creative at all.

Anyway I did sit down & make a card, I had made my DT card for Divas ages ago & that will be shown on Wednesday.

I started out by colouring with Promarkers an image by Kenny K called Skater Chick. The backing paper is by Toucan Scraps over at the OSAAT store called City Street, onto which I added a sentiment in Dripping Markers font to look like it had been spray canned.
I then googled trying to finda graffiti artist or something as I had this idea in my head & came across this image of a Graffiti girl at Edupics which was free to use for non commercial use. This was perfect for what I had in my head. I coloured this again with Promarkers.
I have been admiring Make It Crafty urban,street images, but thought I had better not spend any money right now, so made my own dustbins by cutting out of silver paper & scoring to look like metal dustbins. It is difficult to photograph as my reflection kept showing up in the photos.
Added some silver rik rak & some candy & here is my first card in ages.

Magnolia Notice Board

In November I am going away for 5 days with friends on a crafting weekend in Yorkshire, we stay in a cottage & generally have a good time. I have been asked to do a class whilst we are there & this is what I have come up with. I saw a similar idea at Sir Stamp A Lot hanging up & thought I could make my own, the one at Sir Stamp A Lot was a kit, made out of chipboard & had a peg for the pencil holder I started by buying some foam board from Hobbycraft & cut out 2 x 20cm squares & made holes using my manual hole puncher (Crop O Dile wouldnt go through as board too thick). I then covered it using papers in my stash.
I then used my Craft Robo to cut out 8 circles in card & I attached them to the corners to provide more protection for the corners, by cutting away a quarter of the circle & folding around the corner. I coloured them using Promarkers.
I then painted blackboard paint onto cardboard that I had saved from some curtain packaging I had recently bought & attached that to one of the boards & decorated the top with flowers.

To the bottom board, I attached a ribbon using brads & glue, which allowed me to add the jotter pad by hooking it over the ribbon.

I covered the jotter in contrasting papers & added a Shopping Tilda to the front.
I then added ribbon to the top board by knotting it at the front of the board & also between the 2 boards by tying the ribbon at the back. I also coloured this to match the corners with the same Promarker.
I then had to decide how to attach the chalk & the pencil, so sat down with my Craft Robo & designed 2 holders, which again I covered with papers the same as the jotter & added flowers to each. I then stuck them on using glue.

Lastly I added another Tilda to the bottom right hand of the blackboard to finish off.
Hey presto a notice board to make in Yorkshire. Now I have to prepare another 7 kits to allow the others to make it too.

Before I went on holiday I purchased several of Zoes Make It Crafty images as I do love them & she had a sale going on. Here is one of them.

This is the mushroom house which I have coloured with Prisma pencils & blended with Sansador. I have mounted it onto Bearly Mine papers. (One was a freebie & the other from Spots & Gingham CD). A MS Daisy punch was used to decorate the edges.

As it is an easel card, I stuck dew drops onto the card to keep it standing upwards. Another Daisy edge was added to the bottom of the card with more dew drops.

I used my Craft Robo to make the Moving Home words. Flowers is hand made with a little glitter added.

Here is my birthday card.

I have used a stamp from Tulip & coloured with Promarkers. The backing papers are also from the same company Tulip & matches the stamps. Circle cut out on Spellbinders nestie & the spiral circle cut out on Craft Robo. I coloured the spiral with Promarkers & edged the top circle. Used a MS Daisy punch on the edges of the paper. The flowers & wired jewel came from my monthly subscription to Crafty Feeling, which has now been taken over by Duck Pond Crafts. Ribbon from stash The Happy Birthdays were stamped using a Stamping Up set of stamps (difficult to see top one as watermark over it).

Golden Wedding

Right folks, I am back, after a 4 week holiday in Cyprus where I topped up the tan & generally had a good time in the sun. I did take my Prisma pencils with me, but didnt do as much colouring as I thought I would.
Anyway I was asked to make a Golden Wedding Anniversary card this week & here it is.

I used Classical Bridal Couple Magnolia image which I coloured with Promarkers. To make the gold effect tag & mount, I sprayed a sheet of card with Dawn Bibby Designs Golden Glitz Shimmer & then cut out the shapes I wanted. The vellum backing paper is from Jak Heath. Years ago before she was famous in the craft world lol, she was a member of a forum I visited all the time & she made a few CDs, of which this is from. I changed the colour slightly to a gold effect & attached to the card with brads (QVC years ago). The tag is a Magnolia die & the swirl is a Sissix die. Ribbon, flowers, hat pin, all from stash. I have also dug up some peel offs, peel offs I hear you say, noone uses them anymore, do they??
Inside I have used My Craft Studio to create a writing oval & inserted Golden Wedding.

Excuse the different colours, thats my photos, they are the same I promise! On the box I have also used the same paper, attached a big ribbon & more peel offs.

I made this card using pale pink pearlised card, onto which I Cuttlebugged Swiss Dots folder paper & rounded off the corners & stuck it onto the card. I then used a Doohickey die to add a border acroos the bottom. Onto that I added a pretty pink & white ribbon & bow. The butterfly is also a Doohickey die (Dragonfly with extra body cut off), onto which I added dew drops.Another Doohickey Tag die mounted & the sentiment from a stamp set I have (Elusive Images) I think. The flowers are from my stash & mounted to make a display.

This is a card I made before going on holiday using Parisian Tilda which I have coloured with Distress inks. Spiced Marmalade, Walnut Stain & Sage Green.

I Googled a free image of the Eiffel Tower & again coloured with Distress Inks.

The papers I am afraid were in my stash, so no idea whose they are, but lending themselves perfectly to the card.

I added faux stitching to the edges of the papers.

Eiffel Tower charm added onto ribbon which I have attached using Eyelets. Flower from stash & sentiment is an old QVC purchase.

Just to say I am away for a month now & whilst I do have internet access, it is very slow & frustrating, so whilst I am trying to keep up with my DT commenting (not that well this morning as blogger is alsoo messing me about), please forgive me if I do not get to comment on my fav blogs.

This week has been hard as my one & only child has bought his own place & at the age of 23 has left home Now whilst I am very proud of him & we have a fantastic relationship, I feel grief stricken, I know it will get easier in time & the fact he has gone means I have done a good job BUT it hurts!!!
Anyway I sat & made this card this afternoon to take my mind of things.
Make It Crafty have had a 40% sale on, so I took advantage of it & bought several of Zoes images as I really love them & this is one of them.
Coloured with Promarkers & Prisma pencils, I added Glossy Accents to the bath water, but it did not want to photograph well, so you will have to take my word for it. I decoupaged the dressing gown & towels to give some lift.
Backing papers are again from Dunelm, where I used a MS Daisy punch & added some Liquid Pearls.
Sentiment is my own computer generated one & brads & flowers are from stash.
Maybe I need to take more heed of the sentiment myself.....lol

This is an image from Karens Doodles which can be purchased here called A Friend In Need & is part of the Herbert Turtle collection. I just think its perfect for a get well card that I needed to make.
I coloured the image with Promarkers. The BP are from Dunelm (no idea other than that as a friend gave them to me). I coloured all the card with Promarkers to match the papers as I wanted it to be very tonal. (Not sure if thats such a word, but I am sure you know what I mean.lol) Sentiment is an Anna Griffin, from a set bought from QVC a while back. Flowers & leaves are from stash, I added a little glitter glue to the edges on some of the petals.

This is an image from Clear Dollar Stamps that I have had for some while & whilst blog hopping I noticed there was a new challenge over at Bearly Mine, so thought this was perfect for a ''summer''theme. I coloured the image with Promarkers & mounted it onto red mirri card, then cut it out leaving a fine border around the image. The papers are from Donna over at Bearly Mine & they are part of the Delicious Delights set. Used a MS deep Daisy punch to create the side effect & once again mounted it onto red mirri card. The sentiment is also part of the digi stamp set above, which I coloured again with Promarkers to match the colour used in the strawberry. Lace & dew drops from stash.

This is another of the 4 cards I started at a Tilda class at Sir Stamp A Lot last month & I have finished off at home, by adding one of my own images Tilda with Cherries, which has been coloured using both Promarkers & Prisma pencils.

I decided to make a set of drawers & used the tutorial over on Katies blog. I used my Nesties Label 2 die for the top & base & used a small stamp to make the scrolls. I seem to be struggling to make cards at the moment, not sure whether it is mojo very low, or just plain old life getting in the way Anyway last weekend I sat down & made this one, I had been given the blue card & wanted to use them as I liked the stripes & dots combo, so mounted them & used my DooHickey die to create the borders. I then made the rose using a Dimension Fourth stamp, added some glitter, ribbon ,pearls, jewels & a feather & one finished card.

Very different from the last 2 cards I have made. I started out by stamping beige card with a clock stamp from Creative Expressions Time set with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I then added a smaller square of BooBunny paper to which I aged the corners by using the same ink. I coloured a Tim Holtz stencil with Spiced Marmalade ink & cut it out (so it looks like the die cut he does). Used another 2 stamps of the same stamp kit to complete the card & again used Distress inks around the edges. 2 brads from stash. I covered the whole card with Tim Holtz Crackle paint as well to give the aged look.

This is another one of the cards I made at my craft class last week & finished off at home. Its another image from the Butterfly Dreams collection, mounted up using papers from Magnolia & are again from Butterfly Dreams set. I used a MS Daisy punch to create the lacy strip mostly hidden under the image mount & added lace from my stash to the bottom. Flowers from my stash & the sentiment is from an Anna Griffin set.

Last night I went to a Tilda class at Sir Stamp A Lot which is quite near me in Peterborough. twice a month they have an evening class, where we make around 4 cards, all with Magnolias & this time it was with Butterfly Dreams collection. I like to finish my cards at home & add on various other embellishments & here is one of them. All papers are Magnolia, I added a doily, which I coloured with Primrose Promarker, the ribbon, flowers & butterfly charm are from my stash. The jewels, butterfly were provided in the class, as were the Nestie circles. I also used my birthday DooHickey die on the edge of the card under Tildas legs. I added a freebie blog ticket & viola!

The scroll is an image from Make It Crafty called Ornate Floral Scroll which I have coloured with Promarkers I tore the edges of the card & inked with Tim Holtz Peeled Paint & mounted onto paper from stash. The ornate design on the paper I painstakingly coloured with a Tan Promarker to match the scroll colour & added 2 corners as well. I decoupaged the scroll & added a pansy which I had cut out of the original backing paper. Quite a traditional card for a change.

Promarker Storage

I know there are lots of people who have already done this as a cheap option for your Promarkers but I finally got around to doing it myself. My son went to Ikea at the weekend & bought this DVD storage for me at £8.14 & I used Paulas blog here for the inspiration & if you ask her nicely she has a Word document already printed for the colour strips to be stuck onto the empty DVD cases.
I still have 26 pens left to buy but now I can see what the colours are quickly & life is easier when colouring.

This is an image I purchased from Make It Crafty, its called Flirty Seniors & I love it. I made the card up for my hubby for our anniversary (yes I know its just gone, but I know he will love it & it can be put aside..lol) Coloured with Prisma pencils in the main, with a few bits where I used Promarkers.. Deliberately left the image quite large, so added a little braid from stash & mounted the image onto card, same as the base & added 3d foam squares to make it stand out from card. Used a punch to make edges with a small circle punch. Sentiment is an Anna Griffin one. Nice & easy & no flowers!!!!

Since coming back from holiday, I seemed to have lost my mojo & just hadn't sat down to make any cards apart from my DT card for tomorrow. Anyway yesterday I was commenting & saw this image & it inspired me to make the above card. The image is called Pippy Bug Catcher by Make It Crafty I coloured her with Promarkers & mounted her with 3d foam squares onto paper I had had in my stash for god knows how long, no idea who or what it came from. The tag is a DooHickey die & I have handwritten the sentiment. Flowers & Ribbon from stash.

Birdcage Tilda

I have been playing with my stamps & have made a couple of cards with frame effects like this one, another will be posted in the next few weeks, whilst I am away.
I started out by stamping the leaves using a Lavinia stamp & chalked it to get the green background. I did the same with the grasses, which is a stamp by Dimension Fourth.
Coloured both Tilda & also the Bridge which is a digi from Digi Doodle shop with Promarkers.
Then created a frame around the card, & stamped with another stamp from Dimension Fourth., then stuck the leaves & grasses onto the frame & placed Tilda on the edge.
Sentiment also by Dimension Fourth & not a flower in sight!

Doohickey Die

My card making has taken a back seat lately, what with all the appointments my son has had to do with buying his first house & of course mum has to be there too. I have had doctors, hospital appointments myself as well as getting ready for my hols on Sunday.
This image was from a set of stamps free with Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine, I coloured with Promarkers & used a MS punch to give an edge.
Papers were from a friend & I glittered up one of the edges as well as distressing the edges of the image.
Another MS punch used for the vine effect. Flowers from stash.
The butterfly & dragon fly are a Doohickey Die by Magnolia which my very good friends have bought me for my birthday.

Take It Easy

It seems ages since I sat & made any cards, my one & only child is buying his own property, so I am really busy running around & helping him through the process, whilst all the time feeling sick inside as I know I am going to miss him so much. He & I are so close & whilst he will be the other end of town, I realise its time for him to move on at the age of 23. He keeps saying he is glad I am still nearby, so I hope that once he has moved (July/August as it is a new build) things will settle down & I can start to relax again. I think until then I will be like most mums, wanting to keep your children safe each & every day.Better not write anymore, the tears which are never far away are on their way again...lol.

Anyway, this image is a freebie I picked up somewhere on the net (sorry) & I have coloured with Promarkers. MS punch Deep edged Daisy used to create the strip. Sissix swirls made from scrap card. Chocolate box ribbon made from stash. Flowers from stash, as are the candy buttons.. Sentiment chalked & is from a QVC kit bought years ago.
Added Glossy Accents to the water to give more dimension.

Finally sat down to make some cards today & here is what I have come up with so far. Good old Tilda & Watering Can. I coloured with my Prisma pencils, thought I had better give them an airing, I think, although I have loads of Promarkers, the pencils are the best for me for shading, just can't get the hang of it with the pens yet. Skin was coloured using Copics.
I bought Cardmaking & Papercraft today which has a lovely set of stamps & 10 papers to download, of which these are the papers. They are pretty & perfect for spring/floral cards.
I finally got out my sewing machine & edged most of the elements with floral designs

Because that is quite fancy, I only added several dew drops & some blooms from stash.

This is my last OSAAT challenge & post as I have decided to step down from the DT. I have been with the team around a year & have made some great blogging friends, who I know I will keep in touch with and I thank Stitchy for allowing me to be part of the team.
This weeks challenge is Mothers Day and is sponsored by

Here is my card.

I was given an image by Reece Scrap Pieces to use which I have coloured with Promarkers & added a couple of jewels, 1 in her hair & the other to hide the word 'mom' on her book as here in the UK we dont spell it like that but as 'mum'.
Mounted onto mirri card & a MS punch used to decorate the edges.
BP I made by spritzing paper with both silver & pink Shimmer, which has given a gorgeous effect.

I then used an old brass stencil & just used glue & mica powders to make the relief pattern around the edge. Liquid Pearls added as well as a large MS punch to make the lacey circles ( cut around both sides of the card matching up).
Sentiment is an Anna Griffin stamp with brads from stash.

This is scheduled as I am out shopping today with hubby.

Easter sweet box

After all my chores yesterday, I sat down & made this Easter sweet box, it just evolved as I had no real plan when I started, other than to make anything but a card! I started by making 4 little boxes, without lids & stuck them together to form a square & then thought ahh I will make a drawer card.

I decorated them to match the outside of the box. The papers are unknown, MS Daisy punch used around the edge of the base

On the top I used Hello Tilda & coloured with Promarkers & mounted it onto a Labels Nestie. The pinkish card, I coloured with Promarkers to get as good a match as I could to the papers.
Flowers from my stash. Butterfly is also a MS punch, whih I have coloured with Gel Pens & a little Glitter Glue.

Magnolia Doohickey die is the tag, on which I have hand written Easter & attached with a brad. Ribbon also from stash.

My intention is to fill it with Mini eggs & give as an Easter present. I am entering it into these challenges

This week has been manic & I have not made any cards since the weekend, but I made this last weekend, am only just managing to post it now.

The image is by Mo Manning over at Digital Pencil Too. I think I snagged it as a freebie from FB a while ago. BP are from scrap drawer, so sorry no idea whose they are.
Coloured with Promarkers. Lace, button, jewels & top flowers from stash. Tag is a Magnolia Doohickey die, on which I have stamped My Friend from an Anna Griffin sentiment set.A MS punch used for the leaves. Bottom flowers made by myself using mulberry paper. Photo is not a good one, so apologies, but I have glittered the edges of the flowers & used Glossy Accents on the cup & cherry.

Mothers Day Tilda

I took the original inspiration for this card from one of last years Magnolia Ink magazines & adapted to my own interpretation. I had been to a Sir Stamp A Lot Tilda class on last Tuesday so had wanted to make a scene on my card.
I started by making my own BP for the bottom of the wall by stamping up a Dimension Fourth stamp with Walnut Stain Distess Ink, so it looks like a brocade wallpaper. Added a fake dado rail by colouring in with Promarkers a small piece of card. The shelf is made the same way. On the shelf I used a Molly Blooms stamp & used shrink plastic to make them small enough to sit on the shelf & added a cutlery charm. The tablecloth effect, I made by using a MS punch Large Daisy & wrapping it around the shelf to give a lacy effect.

Kitchen Sideboard & Baking Tilda with wooden spoon are coloured with Promarkers. The picture I made by cutting up Funky Foam (do you remember that...lol) & mounting the little flowers onto acetate with Glossy Accents & sandwiching the acetate between the funky foam. As it is an easel card, I needed to make something to stop the card falling forward, so I made a rug out of card & pierced the edges & threaded raffia through it to make the fringe.

Added a few flowers to the front edge, along with dewdrops. The sentiment is a Magnolia Doohickey tag die which you can see popping out of the side where I have mounted a housing so the tag can be pulled out & the sentiement read. Unfortunately I did not take a photo of this in full, but as this card is for my sons girlfriend to give to her mum, it is a Mothers Day card for sure.

Aquamarine

Time for another challenge over at "The Shoe" & this weeks its Aquamarine.

The image I have used is by Stitchy over at The Stitchy store called Birthday Boy & can be purchased here
Coloured with Promarkers. Used my Craft Robo to cut out the scalloped edge to the nestie circle. Plaited some embriodery silk & added my pennants. I made thses by cutting out the shapes, colouring with Promarkers & using a peel off to mask the numbers. A strip added at the side with my own sentiment. Viola!

More distressing

Been playing around with bits & pieces in my stash with no particular reason to make anything & this is what I ended up making. I started out with paper from Lifes Journey by K & Co & using my Tim Holtz masking set, added Spiced Marmalade. I then used a stamp from Creative Expressions "Time"set in Walnut Stain & Peeled Paint & over the top of that added Crackle Paint. Used the same masking technique on the tag & stamped using the same set. Stamped the clock from the set onto shrink plastic & added to the card with raffia, which has also been coloured with the same inks. Not sure if I| like it or not, sometimes I do & sometimes not...oh well.

My second post of the day & once again I have been playing with Tilda.

I have used Sea Through the Porthole & Tilda with Rope Ladder, both of which are from the Bon Voyage collection. I have coloured the porthole scene with inks, a mixture of Distress Inks & Brilliance Ink, whereas Tilda is coloured with Promarkers. MS punches used to make the borders underneath, which you can just see & these were also coloured with promarkers to match my colour scheme. Pleated ribbon from stash randomly & attached over the border strips. Added flowers from stash. (the little white one at the top I made myself). Finished off with some candy cane & glossy accents on the flower petals. Oh & added a charm too. I am pleased with this one, although I say it myself.

Well seeing as I have absolutely no need for such a card, I thought "outside the box" & as St Patricks Day is a green theme with it being irish n all, thats what I based my card on, so I can give this to my nephew next month.

A couple of weeks ago, I spent the day with a friend & we went craft shopping as you do & I bought some more Distress Inks, a Tim Holtz stencil & a set of Creative Expressions "Time" stamps & heres my first play with all of them.
I started out by covering the card with Spiced Marmalade distress ink, then placed the stencil on top & added Peeled Paint & Walnut Stain & blended, adding a bit more Spiced marmalade where I wanted. I then used one of the stamps to stamp directly onto the card. I stamped the clock onto other card & cut out, as well as the sentiment, distressing all with the same inks. Quite effective I think.

Continuing my love of Magnolia stamps, here is the Parrot from 2009 Animal collection, which I have placed onto the Jungle Vine. I have coloured both with Prisma pencils. BP are from stash, as are the rik rak & dew drops. Added a big bow & highlighted with glitter some of the leaves on the top BP. MS punch used to make the butterfly which has been embossed.

I have taken the orange & green from the photo to use & made this card.

I started off stamping a brocade stamp from Dimension Fourth & is part of their Paper Garden set which I bought when I recently went to Stamperama in Stevenge and stamped it in Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. I then printed off the Sunflower image by Digi Doodle & distressed the whole image using again Spiced Marmalade & Peeled Paint Distress Inks. I then used a black Marvy Le Plume pen & went over the image again to make it stand out & then spritzed the whole image with Dawn Bibby Golden Glitz Shimmer Spritz which has covered it in a gorgeous golden shine.

I added a gold piece of rik rak & sentiment from an Anna Griffin set & there you are. Hopefully you can see the shimmer as it is difficult to photograph.

After taking all week to make the previous card, today, after I had done my cleaning & washing, I sat down & came up with this card. I used the Castle Stone Window & Longing Tilda & coloured with Promarkers. The BPs are from my scrap drawer & all edges are distressed. I added ribbon from stash. The base of the flower was made using the deep edged Daisy MS punch & matching it up to make a round as opposed to an edge & then spritzed with Cosmic Shimmer gold. Flower & button from stash. Added dew drops & more little flowers.

Purple at ''The Shoe''

Its time for another challenge over at If the Shoe Fits, Scrap It & this week its PURPLE, so lets see your creations with the colour purple. We have chosen purple because its the colour of Februarys birthstone.
I have had no mojo this week at all & it has taken me all week to make this card. I started off by stamping this image by Stamps Happen Inc called Divine Silhouette & colouring with H2Os for a change. Made the background by just stamping with a Brilliance ink pad. Dew drops from stash.

BP from stash, I am trying to use more of my scraps as the drawer is overflowing, so I need to reduce the amount in there.I made my own tag from mirri card to match the topper backing & chalked the sentiment which was an internet freebie. Ribbon from stash, as is glitter around the edges.

Chalked the doily in the same colour as the sentiment, cuttlebugged the flower chain onto same mirri card & added flowers from Crafty Feeling. Hey presto a purple easel card that has taken all week to make, doing a little bit every now & then & struggling with all of it, as I really had no inspiration!. Entered into the following challenges

I don't know where my mojo has gone this week, but I do know its not with me!!!! This is a card I made last week. The image is Dis Digital Downloads & was a freebie, I have coloured it with Prisma pencils & added Glossy Aceents to the flowers, although its difficult to see in the photo. Added a doily which I have coloured with a Promarker, ribbed a strip of card & used a Martha Stewart punch to create the strip at the bottom of the card onto which I added ribbon from stash. Papers from my scrap drawer & flowers from Crafty Feeling subscription. The flourishes are from my new Sissiz Flourish Die set, onto which I have added a few jewels.

The challenge over at The Shoe today is Birthdays, one reason is that one of the founders Tanisha is having a baby anytime now, so this little one will have a birthday in February & it is also the anniversary of the blog. So lets see your entries.

I needed to make some mens cards, so this is what I came up with. The stamps are from a set Called Vintage Labels by Creative Expressions & is so versatile for both men & women, as most people drink wine (not me though) lol.

Can't remember where the paper came from, as it was in my scrap drawer, as was the vellum. " brads added & hey presto, a mens card with no embellishments.

Phew, now thats done, I can show you what I made by using an image by Lil Diva called Plant Pot, unfortunately she is no longer in the store.

I altered a tin, I covered it with paper, glittered top & bottom & added flowers all around the side with a couple of ribbons. On the top I once more covered with paper, glittered around the edge & mounted a contrasting circle on which to place the image.

I coloured with Prisma pencils & blended with Sansador & decoupaged the image to bring it to life. I also glittered the leaves & some of the flowers.

The DT have done some amazing projects also, so go over to the challenge blog & visit them all, some have blog candy on their blogs to celebrate & some don't, so you need them all to see what you could win.
I have no blog candy this time as I have a big birthday coming up in April & wil be giving away a big blog candy then to celebrate, so stay tuned & you could win that in April.

Spent last evening colouring in this Tilda & Fence with Promarkers. I followed the sketch over at Just Magnolia & mounted it up with various card & papers from stash. The flowers, ribbon and dew drops are all from my Crafty Feeling monthly subscription which arrived yesterday Happy Birthday was a freebie from Dimension Fourth at the stamping show I went to last Sunday. Cant remember who the leaf punch is by, I punched loads out with my friends punch ages ago. Nesties Labels 2 used for mount.

On Sunday I went to Stamperama with friends & bought some new new bits & pieces. I bought a Dimension Fourth flower making stamp set, which makes scrummy roses, this Lavinia Stamps leaf stamp. A Little Claire stamp called ''A Place in the Sun'', some Glossy Accents & a Sissix flourish set of dies. I also got some candy & a small punch, again for my flowers. I also bought a load of charms, but cannot remember whose stall they were on.
This card uses the Lavinia leaf stamp, which makes perfect oriental style me thinks. The vine punch is from my local stantioners again, a bargain at £6.00, apparently he gets QVC returns, which is why we are able to get so much craft stuff at great prices.

Yesterday I had a friend around for lunch & we spent all day colouring, crafting & eating!!! Fab day. We also went into our local stationers & bought more Promarkers @50p each. I think I can safely say that I have all the colours that they have now & I have around 70 pens. Can't believe my luck, I have waited so long to get any at all, now have loads. Anyway I coloured these in yesterday, Jungle Edwin & Elephant with the Promarkers. The background I created with my alcohol inks & made an evening sky with land on which I placed a template from a CD that people on UKScrappers had created for the Robo several years ago, which I had bought. So cut it out on black card to create a silhouette. Punched the edge with a Martha Stewart punch & added a black ribbon, kept it plain as it is a guys card. I think its made quite an effective background to the card.

Xmas card In February!!!

Yes I know I am mad making Xmas cards at this time of year, but seeing as I am still short of inspiration, I just picked an image from Just Inklined I wanted to colour, called Maude Merry Christmas & went from there. I bought some more Promarkers today at 50p each, so I have about 50 now & all bought at 50p each!!!! It is different colouring with them rather than my pencils, but I am watching the tutorials & will get better hopefully. If not, back to the pencils! There is more shading on the card than can be seen in this photo & you will have to take my word on that..lol. Mind you her boobs look horrid in the camera light, so def more practice needed.
BP used are Bearly Mine and are from the Christmas Sparkle range. I would go so far as to say overall, Donnas papers are the best on the internet & she has some new sets out today, one of which I have on my wish list. I used MCS to print a card using the same colour as in the BP, from which I printed the sentiment, which was a freebie & I also ran the card through the Cuttlebug with a Tim Holtz music folder & distressed it using an emery board. Glittered around the edges with glitter glue. Flowers from Crafty Feeling subscription kit. Doily I chalked around the edges with a pink to tie in with the rest of the card. Martha Stewart punch used embossing snowflake & snowflake punch (maker unknown)

I think my Mojo has run away & left me at the moment! So much going on & feeling really flat about it all, but I whiled away a few hours yesterday making this card for my nephew. Its not very exciting & I know its hard to make cards for males, but this took me so long as I had no inspiration at all.
The image is by Mo Manning over at Digital Pencil Too. Coloured with Promarkers & I am reasonable happy that the colouring is getting better. Mounted onto paper by Dovecraft (can't remember the name) & faux stitching. Button & initial from stash & initial coloured with Promarkers.

2 cards made this afternoon. Yesterday I went into town &popped into our local stationers, they sell loads of craft bits as they buy up bankrupt stock, so its always worth a visit. Well I bought 2 MS punches & 35 Promarkers. The Promarkers were 50p each!!!!!
I now need to practice my colouring with them as they are different to my beloved pencils.
These 2 cards are for my friends daughter who is about to give birth to her first child, so one of them will be appropiate...lol. These are coloured with Promarkers. All BP, ribbon, brads, lace from stash. Nellie Snellen dies used for the toppers. The bricks were cut out of the scrapbopok paper I had.

I have made a Christmas card this week & used a Floppy Latte image called Snowglobe & this can be purchased here.

I used My Craft Studio & enlarged the image into a card size shape. Drew around the image to create a back & joined the 2 together at the top to make a stand alone card.
I paper pieced the scene & added Glamour Dust onto the roofs & ends of the trees, although it is difficult to see from the photo. I have then added an acetate overlay & used Liquid Pearls to create the snow in a snow globe. It looks quite effective, although I say it myself. Its always difficult to photograph acetate, so photo does not show the sparkle unfortunately.

Tilda goes Boutique shopping

This is another of my purchases last week, when I went craft shopping with a friend. We are lucky around here as we have several all within 20-30 mile radius, so can visit more than one in a day. In an earlier post, you will see I used Shopping Tilda by herself, but here I have teamed her up with the Boutique stamp. I have coloured with Marvy pens & a water brush, just for a change.

I have used Panda Bear, Going in Circles papers which can be purchased here. For the challenge I have used a new Joy Crafts Die that I was bought for Xmas, with which I made the flowers. The box was a template from UKScrappers & cut out on my Craft Robo.

Added some jewels & made the flowers using the new die & 3 of the papers with a card to match. Can you see how the paper colour graduates? If you look at the top photo & then the one above, you can see more pink in the box. I really love these papers.

Yesterday I went to 2 craft shops with a friend, followed by lunch, what a fab day!!!!! Of course going into the shops, meant you could not walk out empty handed, so I have added to my collection of Tildas. I bought Shopping Tilda & the boutique stamp, which I will be playing with shortly. My friend has loads of the stamps, so we are going to swop them, rather than keep buying the same ones. It has taken me a long time to like her, but now I love the range & will be buying more.
She is coloured with Prisma pencils. The little handbag stamp I bought from Stamp Addicts, no name on stamp, but its like a tapestry stamp, so cute.
