Tilda & Flower

Yesterday my hubby had his Christmas do, so that left me alone all evening, so of course off I went into my craft room, I Tunes blaring away & made this card. I had been to Grafton Crafts during the day with a friend & had bought the papers that I have used here & they are by Craft Creations Ltd. We had a lucky escape actually as when we came through Kimbolton, the roads were flooding & I could see that the River was being monitored as it was level with the road, so instead of having lunch first, we did our craft shopping & came back & had lunch in a pub near home, but just after we drove through, the road was closed & that would have made a big detour to have gotten home, so for once my timing was spot on!
Anyway back to the card, I have used the sketch over at Sketch & Stash. The corners are a Cheery Lyn corner die in the same papers.
The images are Meadow Daisy from Summer Memories collection & Berry Tilda from Lazy Summer Days, both of which are coloured with Watercolours. Not happy with result, but I will keep practising at different mediums from time to time.
The fence & bird table are both a Marianne die set. The sentiment ticket is a Magnolia die. Ribbon, flowers, butterfly, dew drops & Bakers Twine all from stash.
There you have a spring looking card with no snow anywhere lol.

2nd post of the day

Yes you do see right, this is the second post of today, I know, nothing for a week, then 2 in a day. Like London buses eh?
Papers are from stash & I have faux stitched them all. You can see a Cheery Lynn flourish die and a Magnolia ticket die too. The ticket has been coloured with Spun Sugar DI & an old sentiment used from stamp stash. Added a doily & ribbon & a little Bakers Twine too.
My image is Tilda on Scooter & is coloured with Distress Inks & mounted onto a Nestie die. Added a little butterfly charm & flowers from stash & here is a girly birthday card.
Told you I had finished my Xmas cards!!!!

My last Christmas card of 2012 (I hope)

This took me ages as you can imagine & I made it ages ago, but never got around to posting it here. It is a step card, which are always quite difficult to photograph. I used paper from stash to create the night sky & added Liquid pearls to create the snow falling. I coloured Edwins Village stamps by Magnolia with DI & also used Cool Santa from Xmas 2010 &  Lampost from 2008, both by Magnolia & coloured with DI.
I edged it with Magnolia Tildas lace Border & coloured with Walnut Stain DI.
The sentiment is also Magnolia Santa is Coming to Town, coloured with DI. The scroll I made myself using cocktail sticks & write a little story. Hopefully you can read it , but it says Twas the night before Xmas. Edwin is hurrying home & Tilda is lighting his way. Meanwhile Santa Claus is waiting........

I then used a Marianne die for the trees & coloured them with a mixture of Peeled paint & pine Needles DI & added Liquid Pearls to some of them. Edwin on Christmas Eve & Tilda with Lamp were coloured with DI again & Tilda was glittered & her fur glittered with Glamour Dust & placed among the trees.
The final step has Magnolia paper & little poinsettia & silver berries.

Last Dream Valley challenge of 2012

Today is the last Dream Valley challenge until 9th January 2013 & of course the theme is Christmas. We have loads of sponsors, too many to list here, so pop over to the blog & see for yourself, as well as look at the amazing creations of my fellow teamies.
I have been practising with my Distress Ink painting & I think this is my best so far. I am afraid I made this card whilst away in Lincolnshire, so cannot remember which inks I used.
The papers were from stash & the image is the one that came with the recent Magnolia magazine. I added a Magnolia tag & stamped Seasons Greetings onto it from an old See D bought from QVC many moons ago. The ribbon I stitched with a running stitch & gathered up & stuck to the card., onto which I added more ribbon & Candy to complete the ruffle. Flowers & berries from stash.
More practising is required, but onwards & upwards as they say, I am enjoying playing with the inks though.
I am now off to do our monthly food shopping, we did all the extra Christmas food yesterday & today the normal shop. Then apart from the meat & cheese order which is to be picked up from the farm shop on 22nd December, I am done!!!!!

Baubles!

I have written most of my cards today. just need to make several boxes for family ones & then I am done. Will then start on wrapping the presents probably tomorrow after the ironing.
I have used a Magnolia Bauble stamp here, from Xmas 2011 I think. I have coloured it with Distress Inks & I am practising with these inks, so hopefully it shows. I used Worn Lipstick & Peeled Paint. The gingham BP was from the Molly Bloom Xmas magazine collection & the other one was Crafty Individuals, both of which are edged with Peeled paint DI. The flourish is Cherry :Lynn Fanciful Flourish, which again is coloured with Peeled Paint DI. Down the left hand side is a Magnolia die Christmas Lace, again coloured with DI. The ribbon is from stash & the little bells are from Hobby House. The sentiment is a See D & the ticket is Tim Holtz ticket die.

Christmas Pudding

I had a brilliant time whilst away with my crafting friends & the cottage was beautiful. Very quaint & full of character.
You should have seen the mess that 5 crafters make with paper everywhere etc etc, but when we left you wouldnt have known we had been there. We visited Sir Stamp A Lot on the way up & Janice laid on tea & biscuits for us & I also met Laurie from DesignerDiva. It was lovely to meet her in person as we are on the same DT together. We also visited Hobbyhouse & Lets Create at Coningsby, so plenty of opportunity to spend, spend, spend!
Anyway back to my card. The papers are both Papermania & Magnolia, both distressed with Spun Sugar DI. The corner die is a Cherry Lyn set of corners. The image is Just Inklined/La Pashe & coloured with Prismas. The ticket die is a Magnolia DoHickey & is a set of 3 tickets, complete with perforation. I love it!
The sentiment is an old See D stamp & the flowers are from stash. The little bell I bought from Hobby House, as with the ribbon. The lace is from stash though.

Carol Singing

Its time for another challenge over at Dream Valley this fortnight & this time its Non Traditional Christmas. It is sponsored by Meljens I took that to be non traditional colours & went with this card. The background paper is from one of the CDs La Pashe & Just Inklined which I recently purchased & edged with acrylic paint. I have then used a TH Cuttlebug music folder & distressed with Pumice Stone on top. The corners are Creative Expressions. The snowflakes are from my Craft Robo. Added lace, ribbon from stash. The sentiment is Magnolia. The image was from a friend, who kindly stamped it out for me ages ago, I thought it was OOh La La, but not sure, so if anyone knows who its by, I can give credit to them by altering mny description here. I am not happy with the colouring of this at all, I wanted to play with TH Inks, but have a lot more practising to do & did not have time to redo it as I am away from Thursday to Monday in a thatched cottage in Lincolnshire with 4 crafting buddies. Hence this posting is scheduled & no challenges entered at this point.

Christmas Kisses

I was rummaging around in my stamp drawer & came across this set of stamps by Elusive Images & had completely forgotten about it. We all focus on the new stuff & forget what we already own don't we?
I coloured it with Distress Ink (Pine Needles), having embossed it with green sparkly embossing powder. The papers are Papermania & are edged with Distress Ink again. I also found whilst rummaging some old mirri waste, do you remember that? Added that to the middle of the card, on top of which I put some mirri card & then some lace. Used Liquid Pearls for the mistletoe berries & flowers from stash. The sentiment is in the same stamp set.

Anything Goes at Divas

We have an Anything Goes over at Divas this week & this week is sponsored by Nitwits so once more I have made another Christmas card. This time I have used a Molly Bloom postbox & coloured with Promarkers. I have chalked around the image with black chalk, which I think gives an atmospheric addition to the scene. I have used Fluffy Stuff by Woodware for the snow effect. The paper is again a freebie from a magazine bought years ago & not used until now. The border is a snowflake Martha Stewart punch & again chalked. The postcard stamp is Papermania Portobello Road, onto which I have added letters from my stash. A ribbon bow & a pointsettia from Fred She Said completes it.

Anything Goes at Dream Valley

This fortnights challenge at Dream Valley is an easy one, its Anything Goes & is sponsored by Joanna Sheen, so lets see all your creations & dont forget to pop over to the blog & see what my fellow teamies have created for you.
My card is a quite simple one for me lol. The red BP is Papermania Home for Christmas & the top one which I love is Magnolia Holly Christmas Song, which I edged using a Martha Stewart corner punch. The image is Magnolia Tilda Singing Carols from Christmas 2009. She is coloured with Promarkers & I added some chalk to the background in a soft green. She is mounted onto an oval Nestie.
A little red ribbon & a holly sprig with another ribbon & a few dew drops complete the card. I just love this paper & didnt want to hide it lol. The sentiment was a freebie picked up on the blogs at some point.

Molly Bloom with Sparkle

I have been playing today & here is yet another Christmas card. For every 1 I make with lots of detail, I am trying to make 2 not so fussy to save on postage come the time to post for Christmas.
This time I chose Snowflake Molly from Molly Bloom Winter Wonderland collection & coloured with Promarkers. I have added some shading with my Prismas too. Woodware Fluffy Stuff has been used to make the snow on the image & I have chalked around it to give a little background colour.
The paper was from a magazine from several years ago ( I am still using some of my older stock) & I have edged it with TH Distress Ink Dusty Concord. A Martha Stewart punch was used to create the snowflake border & the card coloured with a Promarker. The snowflakes are glittered with Gold Glamour Dust & cut out using my Craft Robo.

The flowers are from stash, I have added a little more Glamour Dust onto the flowers & leaves.
At the top of the card I have hidden a tag, again edged with TH Dusty Concord & a Molly Bloom sentiment added, to which I have attached a ribbon from stash.
Can you see that gorgeous tree ribbon? This came from my visit the other day to the garden centre. I love it.

Ice Tilda

Here is another Christmas card using Ice Tilda from Christmas 2011 collection. She is coloured with Promarkers as usual and mounted onto a Marianne oval die cut. I dont think you can see in the photo, but there are little silver snowflakes stamped around her. The paper was a freebie from a magazine, found in my Christmas box, so no more info I am afraid. ( I am trying to use up some of my old stock this year) I edged the paper with white acrylic paint. Underneath the image is a Cuttlebug snowflake folder, which has been edged with a Martha Stewart snowflake border punch. I then added snowflakes cut out using my Craft Robo (UKScrappers template) & glittered with Glamour Dust.
There is also some gorgeous silver ribbon across the middle, which also has snowflakes on it.I then added a Marianne die cut tree, along with another Marianne fence, both of which I have glittered agin & added Woodware Fluffy stuff to the fence to look like snow.
A few little jewels added to the bottom right corner & lastly another Garden Centre purchase, a silver star garland, which was 99p. Its perfect for cards lol. Not quite what it was designed for, but hey ho! The sentiment was another blog freebie at some point.

Santas Coming

This is a Make It Crafty image called Jolly Santa which is coloured with Promarkers. The green paper is The Paper Mill shop & the red is Papermania Home For Christmas. Both are edged with a glitter pen. His fur is Woodware Fluffy stuff. The sentiment is Magnolia Santas Coming to Town. The green ivy is a garland I bought from the local garden centre & thought it would look good on cards. How many others have done that? My friend & I walked around the Christmas section last Thursday & bought stuff to go on our cards not the trees lol!!

The berries are another purchase from the garden centre. The roses are Grafton Crafts, as is the gold berries too. The poinsettia is last years stock. All finished off with another garden centre purchase.

Edwin & Lights

This is Edwin with lights from Christmas 2010 I think!. Coloured with Promarkers. The papers are a mixture of a freebie from Making Cards magazine & Crafty Individuals. The festive fun stamp is from an old SeeD Christmas collection bought from QVC many moons ago. The lace is from stash as is the dew drops. The tree is a Marianne die cut, coloured with a Promarker & a little glitter & mini jewels added. The postcard is a Papermania Urban Collection stamp, stamped with TH Spiced Marmalade DI. The string of lights is a Martha Stewart punch, again coloured with Promarkers & a little glitter added. The tree embellishments is from stash (no idea but had it ages).
The corner I made by cutting out a GSD file from UKScrappers, colouring it with Promarkers & spritzing it with a Dawn Bibby Cosmic Shimmer.

Glitter & Bling

Its time for another Dream Valley challenge & this time its Glitter & Bling & is sponsored by Sassy Studio. Dont forget to go over to the challenge blog here & look at my fellow teamies cards which are fab.
My papers are from last year & I think were Papermania. All edged with red glitter. The postcard is aslo Papermannia Urban collection, onto which I have stamped & glittered a sentiment from Molly Bloom.
The images are from the stamps in the Molly Bloom magazine that I was lucky enough to get hold of. Apparently the print run was due to run for a maximum of 16 weeks & it completely sold out in 3!!!!! Its a lovely set of stamps, an inspirational magazine with loads of projects in, ribbons, twine & papers, all for £7.99. The images are coloured with Promarkers. I have used a Nestie die & glittered the edges & added dew drops. You cant really see the glitter unless you click on the picture & enlarge it, but there is a lot of glitter been used lol.

Divas Use Orange

Its Team B turn over at Divas By Design this week & the theme is to use orange. The sponsor is Stamp N Doodle.
Now I know my last posting was ages ago, as I have been on holiday for 3 weeks & to be honest before that I had lost my mojo. There were a couple of cards schedule posted whilst I was away but thats the limit of my card making in recent times. I am hoping that I can get back into my craft room & start making cards again, especially as I need so many blooming Xmas cards!!
This was a very quick card made this afternoon. The paper was a freebie from a magazine. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to make the tree, using gold card & added small jewels at random onto it.

Backed it with orange card. Added flowers from stash & some ribbon with gold trees on & there is my DT card. A very quick & easy card. I will get back to my usual card making very soon I promise.

Use Texture

Team Bs challenge this week over at Divas By Design was to use texture & is sponsored by Joanna Sheen
Once more I have made a Christmas card to add top my stock. The background paper I cut down from a Dovecraft Contemporary Christmas pack. The blue paper was a freebie from a magazine. The image is Magnolia Baubles & is coloured with Promarkers. It is also glittered with Gold Glamour Dust & the ribbon is  Cristal Glamour Dust. The doily I coloured again with a Promarker & gave it the Glamour Dust treatment too. My texture comes from the ribbon (from stash), the flowers (stash) & the doily. The sentiment is from a See D I got from QVC years ago.
When this publishes, I will hopefully be in the sunshine in Cyprus with friends & with still another 17 days to go....lol.

Breast Cancer Awareness. Go Pink!

The new challenge over at Dream Valley this fortnight is to support Breast Cancer Awareness & is Go Pink, so lets see the pink in your cards. We are sponsored by Dis Digi Downloads & there will also be a special prize from Melly.
I thought I would soldier on with my Xmas cards as I am severely behind this year & I used an an image from Pink Gem, which gets used year after year as I really love this one. He is coloured with Prisma pencils. For the snow I have used Woodware Fluffy stuff. The papers are Bearly Mine. The edges are distressed using TH DI Spun Sugar & also Glamour Dust for sparkle.
The large snowflake is from stash, as is ribbon & snowflake brads. I have edged the sentiment using a Martha Stewart punch & the letters are from an old QVC kit.
No challenges entered as when this posts, I will be in an aeroplane hopefully.

MIA

Just in case anyone was wondering where I have been these last 2 weeks, I have had a particularly stressful time without going into too much detail & suffice to say my mojo disappeared completely.
I have hardly been near my craft room for ages, apart from making a couple of DT cards as I go away tomorrow for 3 weeks & I am hoping that when I come back, I can get back to making cards again & enjoying it!!!!
See you towards the end of October, apart from my scheduled posts in the meantime. xx

Celebration

This fortnights challenge over at Dream Valley Challenges is Celebration, so of course could be any reason to celebrate, so an easy one to do right? We are sponsored by Digi Doodle
Who will kindly give a $10 voucher to the lucky winner to spend in store.
On my card I have used Tilda Singing Carols from Xmas 09. Lamp post Xmas 08 & Winter Forest Xmas 08. I have not masked them but cut them out individually as I liked the extra depth that gave me, especially with the lamp post in front of the trees.
All coloured with Prisma pencils.
Pointsettia from stash as are the buttons.
I must confess I made this last year & have never shown it before & obviously it did not get sent, so I cannot remember where the papers or sentiment came from. I do remember taking the inspiration from a card seen in a Magnolia magazine though.

For a Child

Its time for another challenge over at Divas By Design & as its Team Bs turn, its up to me to showcase our theme which is ''For a child'' & is sponsored by Lili of The Valley this week.
I have used Balloon Bear & coloured him with Promarkers & used the Blender pen to give some texture. Not sure if its worked or not, but hey ho!
I got out my embossing folders, they just dont see the light of day these days & ran them through the Cuttlebug & then coloured with TH DI Mustard Seed. The little postage stamp was treated in the same way. The cake was a precut die I have had for yonks, no idea where it came from, & I added a little spotty ribbon around it. The tag is a Magnolia die. Paper from stash & a few dew drops & there you have it, a childs card.

Sewing Tilda

Its time for another challenge over at Dream Valley today & the theme is ''Something Old, Something New''. We are being sponsored by
OSCC. Crafty Ribbons & Joanna Sheen, so lets see your entries using something old & new. Don't forget to let us know what is new & what is old.
Here is my card and this is the other Tilda that I had wanted from the Turning Leaves collection, isn't she adorable? I have coloured her with a mixture of Promarkers, Prismas & also some paper piecing on the material & the bow in her hair. The orange back ground paper is from stash & the other papers are just perfect for this card, they are Papermania Happy Days & when I saw them, I just had to buy them & that was before I had the stamp, I knew they would go with this stamp perfectly. I edged all the edges with DI Spiced Marmalade.
Tilda ( my new item ) is stamped onto a Nestie & edged with a Promarker. The little ruler is a Dimension Fourth stamp, which I bought last February (thats my old item ), again coloured with DI. Added a couple of buttons & draped some ribbon across the card as well as down the side. The with love sentiment I have no idea these days where that came from & of course added flowers, leaves & pin from stash. I also bought the little tape measure charm at Stamperama last February & it goes perfectly with this theme.

Saturated Canary Spritz

I am slowly starting my Christmas cards & now have 10 made up, so lots of work still to do however.
This little cutie is Saturated Canary Spritz & he is coloured with Prisma pencils & blended with Sansador. I had my pencils long before my Promarkers , but they have been neglected lately, & I had forgotten how much I liked them, so may start using them again more often.  I have sparkled her wings using Glamour Dust.

The BP is a freebie from Bearly Mine which I have edged with white acrylic paint. The image is mounted onto card from my stash (yes I managed to use some lol ) which again has been edged with acrylic paint. I have placed an acetate overlay onto the image & used Liquid Pearls to look like snow falling. The holly & ribbon are both from stash.
The white flower is glittered, again with Glamour Dust with a poinsettia added on top.

Tilda with Scooter

There are 2 images I really wanted from the Turning Leaves collection & thats this one & Tilda sewing, which you will see very soon I am sure, so I treated myself & bought them both from Bunny Zoe Crafts.
She is coloured with Promarkers & mounted onto a Marianne die cut, which has been edged with Spun Sugar DI. The papers are from stash & I have faux stitched around the edges. I have a newish sewing machine & I read that using it for paper sewing may damage it because of the paper dust, so am reluctant to use it for my cards. One of these days I will buy one of those cheap little ones & use it purely for sewing.
You can just see down the left hand edge a Magnolia Lace border die, again edged with DI. Added lace from stash & a doily too. Across the bottom is a Memory Box die Spring Border, which has been coloured using Walnut Stain DI,  onto which I have added 2 layers of ribbon. Sentiment is Papermania Urban set of stamps. Oh & the other die cut is another Memory Box die, which I have cut up & added either side of the image mount. Lastly flowers from stash added & there is my version of Tilda with Scooter.
