For a Special Guy

This fortnights challenge over at Dream Valley Challenges is sponsored by OSCC

and Sassy Studios
& is For a Special Guy, so lets see your male cards this fortnight, especially with Fathers Day here in the UK shortly.
Back to my card & I am afraid I have no idea as to what papers were used as this was made at Sir Stamp A Lot. We are lucky as we are able to have our own class each month now, as there are always enough of us, so we don't miss out and so the papers were provided by Janice & Kate. I do know that the image is Cool Edwin from Sweet Memories collection and he is coloured with Copics. The little square Union Jack that Edwin is mounted on is a post it note, how cool is that? Very apt for Britain this year.
I am entering this into the following challenges
Just Magnolia Fathers Day/ Edwin
Card Makin Mamas Fathers Day
The Poodles Parlour Fathers Day/Male card
CRAFT Male

UPDATE I won Top 3 over at C.R.A.F.T for this card.

Stamping Tilda

I won a Magnolia-licious challenge recently & this was my choice of prize. Stamping Tilda which I have coloured with Promarkers. I used a Nestie plain oval to stamp onto & coloured the embossed edge with a Promarker. The scrummy papers are from Papermania Designstax Lucy Cornwell. My firend & I went halves on a 12x12 paper pad & cut it down the middle, so we both have these gorgeous papers for little money. Result!
I have used my Memory Box die Catalina & lace & ribbon from stash.
I added a silk flower & made a couple of flowers myself using EK Success punches with a star punch in the middle, on top of which I added a few seed pearls. The papers in these match the main card. Added a pearl drop flourish & Pine Leaves from a Martha Stewart punch. I love this card, the colours are so soft & its so pretty & girly.

Anything Goes at Divas By Design

This weeks challenge is Anything Goes at Divas By Design
This challenge is sponsored by Meljens & I have used Sweet Sundae for my image, which has been coloured with Promarkers.
I played around with white acrylic paint & edges the papers with it & also used it on the ice cream part of the image. It doesnt show up that well, but does give some dimension.
The background paper is from stash, no idea who's I am afraid, it was an offcut & from my oddments drawer.
I laid some gauze underneath the image, which was mounted onto a Marianne die. You can just see the Memory Box die (Catalina) which I cut out with red mirri card.
The sentiment is an old QVC  one, coloured with Promarkers.
Lace & ribbon from stash, as are the flowers. The 2 with red centres I made myself to match the papers.
Don't forget to pop over to the Divas blog & see what my fellow teamies have created for you this week.

Magnolia Down Under 2nd GDT Post

Its time for another challenge over at Magnolia Down Under & this week is ''Make Your Own Embellishment''. I chose to make my own flower out of lace
I threaded cotton along the top edge of the ribbon & pulled to make the circle. Added a smaller piece of black ribbon & added a jewel & hey an easy flower. I added ribbon & leaves & a pearl decoration for dimension.
I knew I was going to use Japanese Tilda (dont ask me why, it just came to me whilst laying in bed!!!), so I started out by making my background. This took ages & ages, I used my Hougie Board to make the criss cross along the card.
I them embossed the lines using an Embossing pen (yes can you remember them haha) & Embossing powder. I then did not like it red & white, so coloured all the squares in black & embossed them too. Finally I had a background that I liked for this card. I had already cut out the frame & backed it with some sparkly material in my stash & edged the frame with Liquid Pearls.
My chopsticks are from a Glitter Girls board & once again, embossed & a little Glamour Dust added too. The flower on top is 2 petals from stash, coloured with Promarkers, shaped & glittered & a little jewel in centre.
The fan is an old wooden stamp I have by Rubber Stampede called Asian Fans. I coloured with Promarkers & Red Stickles & Glamour Dust. Finally my Tilda is also coloured with Promarkers & I have left her skin very light as the Geisha girls did, she also has the Glamour Dust treatment.

All in all, I really like this card & the way it turned out, albeit that it took a long time to create.
