Tilda with Love Cake

Its time for the first challenge at Dream Valley & its an Anything Goes with 2 sponsors (see below my card description for details)
I have used Tilda with Love Cake from the new collection & coloured with Black Soot & Festive Berries Distress Inks. I had wanted to practice using just black & am quite pleased with the result, albeit that the cheeks are a little too defined in red, but on the whole I think it has come out pretty good. The image is stamped onto a Marianne oval die onto which I have stuck seed pearls around the edge. I mounted the paper from stash onto black & red card & edged the paper with a little acrylic paint. I also punched a few hearts along the bottom to allow the red to show through. Added a feather, doily & red heart & some ribbon from Hobby House. The letters are mounted onto a SU die & are from my stash (think they were part of an old QVC kit).

Washi Tapes

For those of you not familiar with this versatile craft item, Washi tape is essentially decorative masking tape from Japan. It is useful for card crafting, gift wrapping, home decor and scrapbooking to name just a few.  Each masking tape roll has the properties of Japanese rice paper offering a delicate tactile surface and semi- translucent opacity. This tape can be easily written on and is easy to remove and re-apply without leaving adhesive stains or destroying the surface it has been applied to.
The many creative and decorative uses of washi tape has meant that it has become a must have item for many crafters, scrapbookers, artists, students and bloggers who are able to propel the most basic of items into innovative craved-after design objects. We love washi tapes too and hope to grow our store to stock the widest selection of washi tapes in the UK. As new designs become available they will feature here so pop back often!
04-01-2012: We've just undergone an upgrade to the store which should make it easier for you to browse via mobile devices. We have still a few more products to add into the store, so if you don't see your favourite tape in stock - please drop us a line!

Prize is £30 worth of tape for a lucky winner!
Plus we have a 10% discount code for anyone to use
Code - DVC1

I don't think I have seen an image colored with distress inks. How did you do it? Is there a tutorial somewhere? I love distress inks and would love to learn how to use them more versatilely (is that a word? LOL)
