Bearly Mine news

For those eagle eyed followers of my blog will have seen I have updated it & included Bearly Mine DT details as I have some really exciting news. I am now on the Bearly Mine DT & will start on 1st February. They say 3rd time lucky as I had tried twice before. To say I am pleased is an understatement!

Bubble Bath Sassy

Hobbycutz have a challenge starting today & the theme is Lots of Layers & is sponsored by Sassy Studios. I chose Bubble Bath Sassy & coloured her with Prisma pencils. The bubbles are covered in Glossy Accents
The papers are Magnolia Ink. The tag die & flower are both Magnolia Ink dies with some seam binding & lace added from stash. A Martha Stewart punch created the corners on the mount. The Bliss sentiment is a Sissix die & the embellishment is Hobbycutz Swirly Frames which I have covered in Shabby White Frantage & a little pink embossing powder. The pink feather I bought in Cyprus.
Hobbycutz are having a DT call at the moment, so if you want to be in with the chance of being selected, then just add DT after your name in the latest challenge.

Tilda with Love Cake

Stamp & Create with Magnolia have a new challenge & the theme is ''In Love'' & you can use any season stamp. The prize is
I decided to interpret the theme slightly differently as I did not need a lovey dovey card as I had already made my hubbys Valentines card, so who does not love cake eh? I now I do for sure & almost always have a home made cake in the cake tin.
I combined both Slice of Yummy Cake (Yummy Tummy collection) & Tilda with Love Cake & coloured them both with my Prismas. The papers are Papermania Lucy Cromwell. I used some pastels to edge the papers & mount. Ribbon is Hobby House & flowers from stash. The leaves are an EK Success punch. The sentiment is my own.
I mounted Tilda with her arm & the cake standing proud from the card, not sure if you can see it, but it gives dimension to the scene.

Girl About Town

Divas have another challenge starting today & the theme is Use Ribbon & is sponsored by Crafty Ribbons.
I chose to use an image I have had for years & its from a series of digi stamps called Girl About Town by Charmed Cards & Crafts. I coloured her with Prisma pencils and layered her up using Promarkers to colour the card to match the papers, which are K& Co Hopscotch. I used a Magnolia die (Old Swedish Lace) to make the edging on the middle stripe. The ribbons are from my stash, the orange one I bought in Turkey I think. Another Magnolia die, So Wrapped Lovely Heart) in the right hand corner with a charm stuck on. The flowers are an assortment from stash & the blue one was made from a Spellbinder die.

Man & his Tools

I have been a bit quiet lately as I have been busy making cards for upcoming DT work & this one was no exception, except that now it is no longer required due to the challenge changing themes.
The papers are Bearly Mine  the image & sentiment are  La Pashe Flipping Men, coloured with Prismas. I used Liquid Pearls on the beer head to give some more dimension. The tools are Hobbycutz & I silver embossed the metals parts of the tools to make them even more realistic. The silver charms are from stash & I think they are Hobby House.

Playing with Gilding Flakes & Gilding Wax

This is not my usual style of card at all & I just made it so I could play, with no DT work or ulterior motive in mind. I just wanted to play with my gilding wax & flakes & a mask that I bought last year & have not played with before.
I started off by using the mask as a stencil & used Walnut Stain DI, leaving the keys white. I then used Gilding Wax on some keys at random & cut out 2 keys masked onto scrap paper. These keys I used bronze gilding wax on & on the key fob part, gilding wax again & added them using foam pads to give more dimension. The wooden decorative circle is from Hobbycutz & this I added gilding wax to around the edges & middle only, leaving parts in its natural state. The sentiment had the gilding wax treatment too & the heart was hand cut & gilded. The edges were again gilded with the gilding wax. Its good to try new things & whilst I love my stamping & colouring, I do enjoy just playing.
